Seduced By Spirits | AstraDaemon

GANGED-UP BY GHOSTS by Imogen Forester is not just erotica with a supernatural twist, but also has a bit of background. The main character is a paranormal investigator who conducts a live stream. She travels abroad to investigate a place where many soldiers died. She's missing her boyfriend, the spirits are missing their girlfriends and wives. I expected something along the lines of The Entity, but this is more like a reverse harem situation with zero violence. Just a psychic helping some ghosts release their spirits in more than one way.

If the author included a little more info about her live stream job, as well as the specific history of the location, this would be more of a paranormal thriller than a spank-piece. I would also suggest changing the title to something like, "Seduced by Spirits" to be more inviting.

*UPDATE* Looks like the author changed the title and cover on Amazon, so this review has been edited to reflect that as well. The cover on the right is the original.

Bigfoot Love

A cryptozoologist searches for love.Dr. Eric Brownstone is a cryptozoologist who has discovered the location of the mythical bigfoot near Kerrville, Texas. But his quest to capture the fabled monster has more to do with his pursuit of ultimate love than scientific inquiry in this Bigfoot erotica title from San Antonio Best Author 2018 runner up.

GONZO BIGFOOT: A LOVE STORY by Bowie V. Ibarra cleverly mixes beastiality and cryptozoology to create a flash fiction erotic encounter between a scientist and a legend. Bigfoot is packing a 50-cal, and Dr. Brownstone is on the receiving end. Forget billionaire playboys and dinosaur trysts, this is the blizzard which will leave you feeling like a glazed donut. After this, Sasquatch will be renamed Bigdick.

I'll Make You Fall For Me

In this short story placed in ancient Rome, Valerius, a self-styled investigator of wrong-doing currently undergoing a bout of amnesia, looks into the murder of a high-born woman whose body was found in his brothel.

THE KALENDS OF MARTIUS by Jerry Gerold is like an episode of Law & Order: SVU, set in Roman times, with a touch of Jerry Springer for good measure. Don't misunderstand me, it's an interesting short story, but the ending made me laugh. I'm not sure if the author intended to create the moment of dark humor or not.

Let's just say, Valerius should probably have learned to keep it in his robes.

Mother's Encouragement

There are two types of tree people: The Pure Ones and the Corrupted Ones. The Pure Ones take over the bodies of the recently deceased. The Corrupted Ones kill people and take them over. The two types are at war. Amelia, a Pure One, elicits the help of Momo and Tyler, survivors of Reclamation Project 1, to combat them and perhaps take care of them once and for all.

Adirondacks by Jerry Gerold is the third story in the Reclamation Project series. I was beyond excited to discover characters from both of the previous stories crossing paths and joining forces. After reading the first two stories and knowing what the Corrupted Ones are capable of, Adirondacks had me freaking out every time a struggle happened.

I think Gerold's writing style is much improved since he first began this series...a perfect balance of action and interaction between characters. I can't wait for Gerold to continue the series!

New Meaning To Tree Hugger

There are trees growing beneath the city streets, trees with human-sized pods growing from them. They need human bodies. Yours will do just fine.

Reclamation Project 2: Abandoned Subway by Jerry Gerold is part of a tree-people series by the author, but this installment functions as a stand-alone. While the story provides insight on the new species and the threat from the Corrupted Ones, it has nothing to do with the events in the first Reclamation Project with Momo.

In fact, Abandoned Subway is more like scifi-horror-erotica than the previous mystery-thriller, as the Corrupted Ones have a rather invasive way of spreading. The storyline is captivating, but I think having Amelia's POV, in addition to Duncan's POV, would have added some extra depth.

The series continues with Adirondacks...

Sick Story For Saturday

Tentacle by Caleb Deschain
When I first came across this book (no pun intended), there was NOTHING about erotica in the description. I honestly thought this was just going to be a horror story like the movie Deep Rising. Imagine my surprise...

Tentacle by Caleb Deschain might prove popular with certain Japanese Anime fans, but not sure how other horror fans are going take this. Tammy, a junior researcher at a biotech corporation, wakes up in a concrete chamber with partial amnesia...and she is NOT alone. Subject #8472, a bioengineered life form, rises from the dark pool within the chamber and violates Tammy in some rather explicit ways. DEPRAVED SEXUAL CONTENT, interspecies rape - you have been warned.

Aside from the subject matter, I approached this story the way I would with any other. I found the repetition of phrases annoying; the dialogue could have been better. Additional editing would have improved this story. Regardless of genre or target-audience, a story should not resemble a rough draft full of typos.

Instead of spending so much effort on the details of the graphic sexual assaults on the female and male characters, the author should have spent more time developing the characters. For example, I don't know any guy who, regardless of how many Fleshlights he owns, would stick his member into a squid's mouth just because his boss told him to.

Despite my disgust, I have to admit the ending was pretty good - better written than the rest of the story. I gave three stars for creativity.
