Three strangers, a wealthy divorcé in his brand new Mercedes and a young couple taking their first trip together, find themselves tangled in a messy accident and stranded on the side of a desolate desert highway. NINE ONE ONE by Kay Oliver is a chilling story with a strange ending. The car accident, in the middle of nowhere at night, is bad enough, but the mind games played by the dispatcher are truly sickening. There is a supernatural element to the phone conversations, and I can't help but wonder if the coyotes have something to do with all of it.
