Tuesday Terror: Here Kitty Kitty

CAT FANCY by A.E. Hodge takes the furry fetish to an insane level. Sandy meets a guy through a dating app, but he doesn't mention his love of cats in his profile. Feeling as though she must compete with Victor's house pet, Sandy allows Victor to do some rather kinky stuff to her. She's so obsessed with the guy's physical appearance, she doesn't pay attention to what he has told her about himself.

The ending is pretty gruesome, but very entertaining. Hodge's story could easily be an episode of The Outer Limits.

Tuesday Terror: Mutated Undead

Sudden Death by James Carlson has nothing sudden about it. You don’t simply READ this book, you PHYSICALLY EXPERIENCE this story. I felt as exhausted as the survivors by the time I reached the end, but in a good “I won’t be sleeping anytime soon” kind of way.

I can’t believe the storyline spanned less than two weeks…Carlson put his characters through every imaginable hell and several that readers won’t be expecting. The only problem that I had was trying to understand the heavy police jargon in the beginning, but it doesn’t continue for very long, once the infection overwhelms the London law enforcement.

While the bond between the survivors leaves something to be desired, no two characters die the same way. Brilliant.

Tuesday Titus: Hailey's Shadow

Hailey's Shadow by Lori Titus has many unexpected turns and twists, particularly for a short story. We first meet Hailey when she is a little girl, tormented by shadows that speak to her. Time fast forwards to Hailey as a young woman, locked up in an asylum, being interviewed by a man named Adam. He soon realizes there is more to her pyromania than a mental illness, but his epiphany comes at a price.

Titus has this way of frightening readers with monsters, without ever fully revealing the her wicked creations...what she does show you will haunt you long after you finish the story.

Tuesday Terror: Time For A Cut

Close Shave And A Haircut by Cameron Hatheway has one hell of a strange "savior." When Sergio is saved from violent loan sharks, the story twists in more ways than one. I like that Hatheway included some background info on the "abomination." You wouldn't think someone living in a dump would be so sensitive about a haircut.
