THE DIGGERS by Jonathan Maas is very simple, and yet monumentally horrific. The dead have reanimated. All of them. Not just humans. Not just the recently deceased. Every creature which has ever lived on Earth has reanimated. Everywhere.
For thousands of years, we buried our dead...and now the ground trembles beneath our feet.
As always,

Popular belief is that there are more people (just people) alive today than have ever lived. It's wrong, but makes for great reading. Where I am from (and most of the US), when people are buried, they are entombed in a concrete vault in the ground. This slows decay, keeps gasses in limited release, and stops any potential leeching of chemicals into the surrounding soil, and most importantly it stops the coffin from either sinking further or rising. To me, it also stops zombies ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, the decay issue is addressed...muahahaha
